Baritone Christopher Feigum has been praised for his dynamic stage presence and elegant musicianship with America's leading opera companies and orchestras. Typical is his performance as Figaro with Houston Grand Opera which led to his San Francisco Opera debut in summer 2006 under the baton of Roy Goodman; he has also sung the role with Opera Colorado and Tulsa Opera. In the 2007/08 season Mr. Feigum performed his role debut as Dr. Malatesta in
Don Pasquale at Opera Colorado conducted by Stephen Lord. In addition, he returned to Houston Grand Opera as Schaunard in
La Bohème, performed excerpts from Die Zauberflöte with Eugene Opera and
Die Erste Walpurgisnacht with the Colorado Symphony conducted by Jeffrey Kahane, and covered the role of J. Robert Oppenheimer in
Doctor Atomic at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
During the 2006/7 season, he returned to his home company, Lyric Opera of Chicago, for his role debut as Mercutio in
Roméo et Juliette. He also made his debut at Los Angeles Opera under James Conlon as Reinmar in
Tannhäuser and sang his first performances with the San Francisco Symphony as Brander in
La Damnation de Faust under Charles Dutoit.
Christopher Feigum is a graduate of DePaul University and a native of Denver. Tonight marks his debut with the Oratorio Society of New York.
